We started Grassroots 252 after realizing something important—while our community rallied behind our events, the funds we raised were going to nonprofits outside our area, leaving families here in northeastern North Carolina without direct support.
In 2023, we decided it was time to change that. By starting our own nonprofit, we could ensure that the support we build stays local—meeting the needs of families in our own community. While our personal journey is deeply connected to autism, our mission extends to all families with special needs, because every family deserves to feel seen, supported, and included.
Today, the Jordan family’s son is turning 13, and their daughter—also diagnosed on the spectrum—is almost 6. Our ongoing efforts are focused on creating the kinds of resources, connections, and support we’ve needed along our own journey.
Grassroots 252 exists for one simple reason: so families here don’t have to look far to find the understanding, help, and hope they deserve.
